Rainbow flag flies for the first time in Bromsgrove
Last weekend (19-20 Sept) saw the Rainbow Flag fly for the first time at the Parkside Building, the home of Bromsgrove District Council. The weekend was chosen to coincide with the Annual Worcestershire Pride festival and celebration of our local LGBT+ Community. Sadly the event which would have been the fourth celebration had to be postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to fly the flag was made after Bromsgrove Lib Dems secured cross party support for a motion backing the move back in February. The move was also backed by Worcester Pride and the Bromsgrove based New Road Parents Support Group.
Cllr Rob Hunter who proposed the motion said: "I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported this move. It was great to see the Pride Flag flying in Bromsgrove for the first time this year and I look forward to an even bigger and better celebration next year!"
