MP must put the people of Bromsgrove first or stand aside
Reacting the news that local MP Sajid Javid has taken up a role as a senior advisor at the bank JPMorgan, Bromsgrove Lib Dems have called for Mr Javid to prioritise the people of Bromsgrove or stand aside.
Local resident and Lib Dem campaigner Sam Evans said: "Bromsgrove needs a full-time MP who is committed to representing constituents and looking after our best interests all the time. I congratulate Sajid on taking up his new job, however he must put the people of Bromsgrove first ahead of his new banking role or stand aside."
Local doctor David Nicholl, who stood for the Lib Dems at last year's general election echoed his colleague Sam's calls.
Dr Nicholl said: "At a time of a national crisis, we need our MP totally focused on the solutions to Covid-19 and finding the best way forward for the people of Bromsgrove. It is extremely disappointing that he will now be distracted by this post with JPMorgan rather than the job in hand."
