Dr. David Nicholl selected to stand in Bromsgrove

Dr David Nicholl, Consultant Neurologist from Hagley has been selected as the Prospective Parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats. Dr Nicholl who turned whistle-blower over the Government's No Deal Brexit plans for pharmaceuticals, as part of Operation Yellowhammer in April, commented "I put my career on the line, to highlight the very real risks to patient safety from a chaotic No Deal Brexit. I took on the leader of the House, Jacob-Rees Mogg, who was rattled by my questioning what the mortality rate would be. These are very serious questions which have failed to be addressed by the dishonest Tory government, who were found unlawful by the Supreme Court this week. It would be an honour to serve the constituents of Bromsgrove as their LibDem MP. We have wasted 3 years due to the illegal and dishonest actions of this government, who were prepared to even mislead the Queen. "Sunlit uplands' we were told in 2016, turns into stockpiling food and medicines in 2019. No-one voted for body-bags or patients dying when we held the 2016 advisory referendum. The Libdems are the ONLY party that provide a positive way forward for the country and save the Union, as opposed to the dishonesty of the Tories and the equivocation of Labour. Anyone who argues for a no harm no deal Brexit is speaking untruths, and I should know, I helped draft Yellowhammer, and spoke out as I realised patients would be harmed. I'm calling for all of those who want to help pull this country out of the mess that Boris Johnson and Sajid Javid have caused, to vote for me and vote Libdems at the next election."
Janet King, chair of Bromsgrove Liberal Democrats, commenting on David Nicholl's selection, said that the party was looking forward to working with David in a future General Election campaign and she was delighted that he had accepted their offer to stand as Parliamentary candidate for Bromsgrove. She and the local team were ready to fight a campaign based on honesty and a passion to choose what is best for our town and our country against an MP who appears to have let personal ambition obscure his vision of the prosperity he was promising when he campaigned to remain in the EU three years ago.
