LIB DEM MEMBERS FUNDRAISE FOR LOCAL CHARITIES
Members of the Bromsgrove Lib Dems have gathered together to raise money for two local charities during this difficult period.
Bromsgrove Lib Dem Chair Josh Robinson appealed to members to raise funds for Aston Fields based foodbank NewStarts, stating "As a local party we are continuing to try and help our local community in as many ways as possible."
"In these uncertain times demand is growing for these services by the day."
The group have also raised funds for town centre based charity the Basement Project, after Lib Dem members and councillors donated out of their own pockets, helping homeless and potentially homeless young people.
In total the local party has raised £700 which will be divided equally between the two local charities.
Josh praised the work of the Basement Project and NewStarts and thanked local members for their generous donations.
Local Lib Dem activist Sam Evans praised members and councillors efforts to raise money for the two good causes, saying "It is vital that we all do our bit, where possible, to help those in need. Both the Basement Project and NewStarts have a huge positive effect locally, collecting food and supplies for those in need. During these tough times there is extra demand on local charities and the community spirit they inspire is heart-warming."
