Freeze Car Park Charges!

Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Rob Hunter has been campaigning hard to ensure residents thoughts have been expressed regarding the provision of car parks in our town.

After completing a recent online survey from the council, Rob went further and following a recent PACT meeting, Rob raised many issues regarding our car parks.

The main points raised included the need to freeze charges, protect existing provision and improve lighting.

  1. Freeze charges. We must ensure the cost of parking does not deter visitors and residents from shopping in our town and supporting local businesses.
  2. Protect existing provision. We believe we cannot risk turning visitors away from the town because they cannot park. We should retain all existing car parks which are all very busy at peak times.
  3. Improve lighting. Lighting is extremely poor at many of the town centre car parks with many of the lamp posts out of service. This is a clear health and safety risk and will make the car parks less appealing to visitors especially during the winter months.

As a local resident, Rob cares passionately about this and will continue to fight for better facilities throughout the whole of Bromsgrove.
