EU ELECTION NEWS

Bromsgrove Lib Dems are well into our European Election campaign but aware that the 22nd May Polling Day will son be here.

Phil Bennion MEP (or rather Dr Phil as our chair prefers to call him, so proud is she of his PhD in Agricultural Economics, which allows him to understand the complexities of the EU agricultual policy as few of us can) has already paid three visits to our constituency. We were pleased to welcome him as guest speaker at our first annual dinner at Barnt Green Cricket Club, he spoke again at our EU Sunday shared lunch in Burcot and before Christmas he enjoyed meeting local voters on Bromsgrove High Street. With his EU Transport Committee responsibilities Dr. Phil is really knowledgeable about public transport and looks forward to a time when the new rail station is attracting even more rail travellers to our town. He is aware of the potential for growth in both tourism and new high tech companies in Bromsgrove and is promoting the interests of our area in Brussels. We are so proud that we are working to re-elect an MEP, who works incredibly hard locally, nationally and internationally.

We are busy delivering our EU Special Edition Focus to areas which we have surveyed and this will be followed by a wider delivery of Phil's own EU leaflets focusing on the 3 million jobs, many in the West Midlands, which are generated by our trade within and through the EU.

Volunteers willing to join us to deliver our message to voters are asked to contact janet.king@libdemsbromsgrove.org.uk to find out when and where our next delivery day will be.
