Bromsgrove Lib Dems attend People’s vote march
Members of Bromsgrove Lib Dems joined hundreds of Worcestershire and West Midlands Lib Dems to march with the 800 000 plus protesters at the People's Vote march in London on Saturday.
Bromsgrove Lib Dem youth member, Emma Rose, 20, was with a group of Bath University students who opened and led the march. Emma said of her day "I had the happiest day standing on the front line, speaking for the generation who will be most affected and didn't get a voice. At uni, many of my friends are from different European countries and why would we want to give up something so special and cut ourselves off from our closest friends and neighbours? We young people do not want Brexit, we do not want to pay for it for all of our working lives when it simply makes us poorer and more restricted. We demand a People's Vote. I hope Sajid Javid is listening"
Chair of Bromsgrove Lib Dems, Janet King commented. "We had an incredible day alongside hundreds of thousands of likeminded people of all parties, backgrounds and ages. There can be no doubt that opposition to leaving the EU is so strong that the people must have a final say once the terms and conditions of the deal are known".
