Action Needed to Tackle Pavement Parking at War Memorial

20 Dec 2020

Campaigners from the Bromsgrove Lib Dems are calling on the council to take action to stop cars parking fully on the pavement outside a war memorial in Aston Fields.

Sam Evans from the Lib Dems has asked the council to take action about cars being parked wholly on the pavement.

Local campaigner Sam said: "As someone who has lived in Aston Fields for many years I recognise the difficulties with parking, as there as many cars parked on our roads for access to Aston Fields Middle School, the train station and our local shops, bars and takeaways.

However, residents have raised concerns about vehicles that are parking wholly on the pavement by the roundabout to avoid parking on the double yellow lines at the end of the road. The Lib Dems are calling on the council to take action."

Fellow Lib Dem campaigner Dr David Nicholl shared his colleague's concerns

adding: "With cars parking fully on the pavement it is difficult for pedestrians with prams or in wheelchairs to pass through. This has been going on for a good while so hopefully the council will act."
